Bawumia Successfully Ends Nationwide Tour

Published:

Former Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer aspirant, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has brought his four-month nationwide campaign tour to a close, describing the final leg in the Ashanti Region as an “electrifying” climax to his outreach.

In a social media post shared on Wednesday, January 28, Dr. Bawumia said his engagements in the Sekyere Afram Plains, Kumawu, Efiduase and Manhyia North constituencies marked the conclusion of both his Ashanti regional tour and his nationwide engagement with party members and delegates.

According to the former Vice President, the warm reception he received from party delegates in the region underscored the growing momentum behind his campaign ahead of the New Patriotic Party’s presidential primaries.

Dr. Bawumia expressed deep appreciation to party stakeholders across the country for the support, encouragement and endorsements extended to him throughout the four-month tour. He noted that the confidence reposed in him by party faithful would not be taken for granted.

With the NPP’s flagbearer election just days away, Dr. Bawumia urged party members to remain focused and intensify their efforts until victory is secured.

“We are three days away from victory,” he said, calling on delegates to rally behind his vision to rebuild the party and reposition it for success in the 2028 general elections.

Dr. Bawumia is one of five contenders vying for the NPP’s flagbearer slot. The party is expected to elect its presidential candidate on Saturday, January 31, as it begins preparations for the next general elections.
