Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has pledged to tackle youth unemployment in Ghana through the development of a digital economy. During a campaign tour in Kpando, Volta Region, Bawumia reaffirmed his commitment to creating one million jobs by equipping Ghanaian youth with essential digital skills.
“All the youth, we need jobs. I am going to give one million youths digital skills in Ghana. Everybody, even if you are a school dropout, we can give you digital skills,” he stated. This ambitious plan is designed to tackle youth unemployment by empowering the nation’s youth to compete in the global market, irrespective of their educational background.
Bawumia emphasized that addressing youth unemployment remains his top priority. He believes the digital economy offers vast opportunities for growth. “You will stay in Kpando and work in America, in Germany, in Japan, in the UK, and in the US. Work right from here with your digital skills,” he added, outlining his vision of a digital workforce based in Ghana with a global reach.
Through his constituency-based campaign, Dr. Bawumia continues to share his bold solutions to tackle youth unemployment and empower communities across the country.
Throughout his constituency-based campaign, Dr. Bawumia has consistently presented detailed plans to address economic and social challenges. With youth unemployment as a priority, he envisions a Ghana where digital proficiency becomes a pathway to sustainable development and economic stability.
