Western Region TESCON Leaders Throw Weight Behind Dr. Bawumia

Published:

Leaders of the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) in the Western Region have declared their unwavering support for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, ahead of the 2026 general elections.

The endorsement was made during a meeting between regional TESCON executives and party stakeholders, where the student leaders praised Dr. Bawumia’s vision, competence, and record in public service. According to them, his leadership style and policy ideas resonate strongly with the aspirations of young people, particularly students and first-time voters.

The group noted that Dr. Bawumia’s commitment to digital transformation, education, and youth empowerment positions him as the most suitable candidate to lead Ghana into its next phase of development. The leaders cited initiatives such as digitalisation of public services and reforms in the education sector as clear evidence of his forward-looking leadership.

The TESCON leaders further pledged to intensify grassroots mobilisation on campuses and within surrounding communities to canvass support for Dr. Bawumia and the NPP. They stressed that students remain a critical force in shaping national discourse and electoral outcomes.

Dr. Bawumia, in response, expressed gratitude to the TESCON leadership for the endorsement and encouraged them to remain disciplined, focused, and issue-driven their political engagement. He reiterated his commitment to policies that prioritise education, innovation, and job creation for the youth.

The endorsement by Western Region TESCON leaders adds to a growing list of youth and student groups rallying behind Dr. Bawumia as the NPP consolidates support ahead of the upcoming NPP primaries.
