NPP Volta and Oti Endorse Bawumia.

Published:

Delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Volta and Oti Regions have thrown their weight behind former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, endorsing him ahead of the party’s upcoming presidential primaries.

The endorsement follows a series of consultations and engagements between Dr. Bawumia’s campaign team and party stakeholders across the two regions. According to the delegates, the decision reflects a shared belief that Dr. Bawumia is best positioned to lead the NPP into the 2026 general elections.

Party leaders and delegates from the Volta and Oti Regions said Dr. Bawumia’s vision for inclusive development, economic transformation, and national cohesion resonates strongly with their aspirations, particularly in regions traditionally considered challenging terrain for the NPP.

They praised his role as Vice President, citing initiatives in digitalisation, financial inclusion, and public service reform, which they say have had a positive impact on residents and businesses in their communities.

“Dr. Bawumia has demonstrated commitment to national unity and development beyond party strongholds,” the delegates noted, adding that his leadership style and policy direction offer the NPP an opportunity to expand its electoral appeal in the Volta and Oti Regions.

The delegates also emphasised that their endorsement is aimed at strengthening the party’s chances of improving its performance in the two regions, which have historically leaned towards the opposition.

As campaigning intensifies, the delegates called on party members to maintain unity and focus on presenting a strong and credible candidate capable of securing victory in the 2026 polls.
