Early Concession Was A Collective Decision By NPP Leadership- Kodua

Published:

The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong, has revealed that the party’s early concession in the 2024 general election was not an individual decision, but a unanimous and strategic choice by the party’s top leadership to safeguard Ghana’s peace and stability.

Speaking publicly on the matter, Kodua stated that the NPP hierarchy carefully assessed the post-election environment and opted for a swift concession as the most responsible path to prevent potential unrest and political tension.

According to him, the decision was rooted in the party’s long-standing commitment to national unity and democratic maturity.

“The early concession in the 2024 election was a collective decision by NPP leadership to preserve Ghana’s peace and stability,” he said. “It reflected our belief that the nation must always come before partisan interest.”

He noted that the concession was intended to send a clear message that Ghana’s democratic institutions and national cohesion must be protected above all else.

The NPP General Secretary emphasised that the party remains committed to strengthening Ghana’s democracy and is preparing strategically for the 2028 elections.
