I Will Arrest Any Kpandai Chief Who Is Against The Rerun Parliamentary Election – Northern Regional Minister

Published:

The Northern Regional Minister, Ali Adolf John, has issued a stern warning to traditional authorities, vowing to arrest any chief who attempts to interfere with or disrupt the upcoming Kpandai parliamentary election rerun.

Speaking ahead of the highly anticipated December 30 rerun, the Minister cautioned that government will not tolerate any form of intimidation, disruption, or undue influence from traditional leaders or political actors as tensions rise in the constituency.

According to the Minister, the rerun is a constitutional directive following the annulment of the 2024 parliamentary results and therefore must proceed without obstruction. He stressed that the state’s responsibility is to ensure a peaceful, transparent, and credible process and anyone who undermines that duty will face the full force of the law.

“I will arrest any chief who attempts to stand in the way of the Kpandai election rerun,” he declared. “No one—traditional authority or political figure will be allowed to derail this democratic exercise.”

The Minister urged all parties to exercise restraint and respect state institutions, adding that Ghana’s democracy must not be compromised by threats or interference.
