Bawumia honours Aliu Mahama’s Adua

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on Sunday led family, friends and national leaders to observe the 13th Commemorative Adua in honour of the late former Vice President, Alhaji Aliu Mahama, in Tamale.

The solemn ceremony, which marked over a decade since the passing of Ghana’s first Muslim Vice President, drew high-profile dignitaries including former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, and several government officials, traditional leaders and sympathisers.

Dr. Bawumia, who has consistently participated in the annual remembrance ceremony, paid glowing tribute to Aliu Mahama’s legacy of humility, service and patriotism. He described the late Vice President as a visionary leader whose exemplary character continues to inspire generations.

Former President Akufo-Addo, also in attendance, shared heartfelt reflections on his longstanding friendship with Aliu Mahama, praising him as a man of great integrity, warmth and unwavering dedication to national development.

The National Chief Imam led special prayers for the late statesman, asking for Allah’s continued blessings on his family and for the nation to uphold the values he stood for.

The 13th Adua once again highlighted the enduring respect and admiration held for Alhaji Aliu Mahama, whose contributions to Ghana’s political and social progress remain deeply cherished.
