Sixty-three (63) Members of Parliament from the Minority side of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), representing 72 percent, have officially declared their support for former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, describing him as the right leader to advance Ghana’s development agenda and unify the party ahead of the 2028 general elections.

At a press conference, the MPs, drawn from various constituencies across the country, expressed confidence in Dr. Bawumia’s leadership qualities, vision, and proven commitment to national progress.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Member of Parliament for Mampong, Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong, said their endorsement was based on conviction rather than sentiment.

“We have seen his work, his discipline, his resilience and his readiness to serve,” he said. “Dr. Bawumia embodies the next chapter of the NPP’s vision, a future built on competence, innovation, unity, and hope.”

Hon. Ampratwum-Sarpong further described Dr. Bawumia as a symbol of renewal capable of inspiring both the party base and the Ghanaian public.

“He is not just the candidate who can unite our party,” he stated, “he is the leader who can win the confidence of the Ghanaian people and secure victory for the NPP in 2028 and beyond.”

“Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is our choice,” he declared. “He has walked the path, carried the burden, and delivered results.”
