Dr. Ayew Afriyie Hails Bawumia’s Humility, Predicts 2028 Victory

Member of Parliament for Effiduase-Asokore, Dr. Ayew Afriyie, has praised former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s humility, describing it as one of the key traits winning him strong support from party delegates ahead of the 2028 elections.

Speaking in Kumasi on Tuesday during a radio interview, Dr. Afriyie, who also serves as the middle belt campaign coordinator for Dr. Bawumia, said the former Vice President remains the most marketable candidate within the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).

“Dr. Bawumia has never insulted or cast a slur on any of the contenders although, on record, some of these contenders have either attacked his personality, his tribe or religion. But you see, as unifier as he is, he has maintained his composure and continues to preach unity in the face of incessant provocation,” Dr. Afriyie stated.

He argued that Bawumia’s calm disposition and message of unity put the NPP in a strong position to reclaim power in 2028.

“Look, nothing is insurmountable. People have passed comments about staying in power for years, some decades, but what happened? The next moment, they were in opposition. The Ghanaian people know what they want, and I am clear in my mind that Bawumia’s time is up to lead the country,” he added.
