The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Bono Regional Chairman, Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, has been arrested by the Ghana Police Service for alleged offensive conduct deemed a threat to public peace.
Police confirmed that Abronye was taken into custody on Monday, September 8, 2025, and is expected to be arraigned before court in the coming days.
Although details surrounding the incident remain unclear, the arrest comes at a time of heightened public attention on the outspoken NPP regional chairman. In recent weeks, Abronye has made headlines after reportedly submitting asylum requests in eight different countries, citing political persecution and threats to his life.
His arrest also follows a police operation over the weekend at the residence of former NPP Youth Organiser, Moses Abor, where officers had searched for Abronye but did not find him at the premises.
