Bawumia to Deliver Keynote Address in the UK

Published:

The Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, Mahamudu Bawumia, is set to deliver a keynote address at the 2026 Africa Summit hosted by the London School of Economics on Saturday, March 28.

Dr. Bawumia will speak on the theme, “Artificial Intelligence and Uniting Borders in Africa,” where he is expected to present a forward-looking perspective on the role of emerging technologies in shaping the continent’s future.

According to organisers, the address will centre on how artificial intelligence can serve as a catalyst for Africa’s economic transformation, while also strengthening regional integration across borders.

Dr. Bawumia is anticipated to highlight opportunities for leveraging AI to improve productivity, enhance governance systems, and accelerate digital innovation across key sectors of African economies.

The summit is expected to bring together a diverse group of participants, including policymakers, academics, students, and industry leaders, to engage in discussions on Africa’s developmental trajectory.

The event forms part of ongoing global conversations on how the continent can harness technology-driven solutions to address structural challenges and unlock new growth pathways.

Dr. Bawumia’s participation underscores the growing emphasis on digital transformation within Africa’s policy space, particularly as governments and institutions explore ways to integrate advanced technologies into national and regional development strategies.

The summit is expected to provide a platform for exchanging ideas and forging collaborations aimed at positioning Africa to compete effectively in an increasingly digital global economy.
