Bawumia Tipped To Win NPP Primaries

Published:

A new survey by Global Info Analytics has revealed that former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is regaining significant support among disgruntled members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who shifted their allegiance during the 2024 general elections.

The poll, published on the organisation’s social media platforms on Monday, October 20, 2025, shows that 63 per cent of disenchanted NPP voters in the Ashanti Region who supported former President John Dramani Mahama (JDM) in the 2024 elections now prefer Dr Bawumia to lead the NPP.

“The fact that a majority of those who turned away in 2024 are now returning to support Dr Bawumia demonstrates his enduring appeal and credibility,” the Global InfoAnalytics report noted.

The Ashanti Region, widely regarded as the NPP’s electoral stronghold, has emerged as a key battleground for consolidating internal unity ahead of the party’s January 2026 presidential primaries. The resurgence of support in this region could prove decisive in boosting morale and reenergizing the party’s grassroots base.

Global InfoAnalytics also announced the launch of its October 2025 delegates’ polls, aimed at tracking whether delegates who previously backed various contenders remain loyal or are shifting their support.

Early projections suggest that Dr Bawumia continues to hold a commanding lead, positioning him as the frontrunner in the race to become the NPP’s next flagbearer.
