The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and former Vice President, Mahamudu Bawumia, has held a high-level breakfast meeting with ambassadors of the European Union (EU) in Accra, focusing on strengthening economic ties, boosting investment, and enhancing regional security cooperation.
In a Facebook post, Dr Bawumia disclosed that the engagement brought together Heads of Mission from 10 EU member states: Austria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, and Malta—alongside a delegation from the EU.
He described the discussions as “constructive and forward-looking,” noting that both sides explored areas of mutual interest and collaboration.
“Our constructive and forward-looking discussions focused on shared priorities, including regional security, deepening economic cooperation, as well as expanding investment opportunities in Ghana,” he stated.
The meeting comes at a time when Ghana continues to pursue stronger partnerships with international stakeholders to support economic recovery and long-term development.
Dr Bawumia also used the opportunity to reaffirm his commitment to strengthening democratic governance and advancing inclusive growth.
According to him, reinforcing democratic institutions, promoting sustainable economic expansion, and ensuring inclusive social development remain central pillars of his broader national agenda.
