“Bawumia Is Winning, Don’t Waste Your Vote” — Annoh-Dompreh

Published:

The Minority Chief Whip and Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, has called on delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to rally behind former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, expressing confidence that he is on course to win the party’s upcoming presidential primaries.

Mr Annoh-Dompreh made the remarks on Monday, January 19, while joining Dr Bawumia’s campaign tour of the Ashanti Region, where he addressed party supporters and delegates ahead of the internal contest to elect a flagbearer for the 2028 general elections.

According to the veteran lawmaker, the NPP must make a strategic and united decision as it prepares to rebuild and position itself for victory in the next national polls. He cautioned delegates against spreading their votes among multiple candidates, stressing the need to support a clear frontrunner.

“Bawumia is going to win the forthcoming presidential primaries. So don’t go and spoil your vote,” he told party faithful, emphasizing that unity behind Dr Bawumia is critical to the party’s future success.

Mr Annoh-Dompreh also referenced fellow aspirant Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, noting that although he holds him in high esteem personally, the timing of his presidential ambition was not right.

“Dr Adutwum is my close friend and we all worship as members of the Church of Pentecost. We even meet at the business committee, and I told him, my brother, this battle is not yours,” he said.
