Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia appears set for a commanding victory in the Western North Region as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) gears up for its January 31, 2026, presidential primaries, following a wave of strong endorsements from delegates across the region.

Currently on the fourth leg of his nationwide campaign tour, after successful visits to the Bono, Bono East, and Ahafo Regions, Dr. Bawumia has received enthusiastic receptions throughout the Western North Region, where his #WinWithBawumia campaign began on Tuesday.

From Sefwi Akontombra to Aowin and Suaman, delegates and constituency executives welcomed him with chants and open declarations of support, describing him as the most experienced, humble, and unifying figure to lead the NPP into the 2028 general elections.

The show of support intensified on the second day of his tour, with delegates from Bia East, Bia West, Juaboso, and Bodi reaffirming their confidence in his leadership.

“Here in Bia East, you are adored because of your humility. In spite of all the attacks against you, you don’t even respond, and this is one of the reasons we are resolved to vote for you again,” said John Ameyaw, NPP Constituency Chairman for Bia East.

“We commend you for your decency and humility. Let them say whatever they want to say about you; continue to be who you are, and victory will be yours,” he added.

In Bia West, the sentiment was no different. Constituency executives reaffirmed their commitment to Dr. Bawumia’s candidacy, with one leader stating:

“As for us, the only person we know is Dr. Bawumia. We’ve known you for many years, and you’ve always stood by us, so we will continue to stand by you until you lead us to victory.”
