Akwatia Erupts as Ama Sey and Executives Rally Behind Bawumia

Published:

Former Member of Parliament for Akwatia, Hon. Ama Sey, has thrown her support behind NPP flagbearer hopeful Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, describing him as a true grassroots politician and the party’s strongest candidate for securing victory in the 2028 general elections.

In her endorsement, the former MP said Dr. Bawumia’s connection with ordinary members of the party and his accessibility make him the ideal leader to unite the NPP ahead of the next national polls.
“Dr. Bawumia is a grassroots person, and he is popular among Ghanaians. He’s the only candidate who can guarantee the NPP victory in 2028. Let’s support him,” Ama Sey declared.

Ama Sey, who remains a highly influential figure within the Akwatia constituency and the Eastern Region broadly, has long been admired for her strong rapport with party foot soldiers. She further touted Dr. Bawumia’s humility as an enviable quality of a great leader. “It’s not about empty noise and it is not about bragging, Dr. Bawumia is down to earth, he doesn’t mock and he doesn’t toot his horn”, she said.

Her endorsement is therefore expected to energize the base and contribute to growing momentum around Dr. Bawumia’s campaign.

This latest show of support adds to a series of endorsements Dr. Bawumia has received from MPs, constituency executives, and grassroots organizers as he intensifies his bid to lead the NPP into the 2028 elections.

She urged the delegates of NPP in Akwatia to ensure Dr. Bawumia’s candidacy in the upcoming NPP Presidential Primaries.

“We are currently suffering because we do not know our stand,” she said, adding that the country would have been experiencing better living conditions if Dr. Bawumia had been elected. “Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will not disappoint.”
