The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has officially opened nominations for its polling station elections, marking the start of a structured internal electoral process ahead of the next political cycle.
The announcement was made by the party’s General Secretary, Justin Frimpong Kodua, during a press conference at the party’s headquarters in Accra on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.
According to Mr Kodua, nominations for polling station elections will run from April 22 to April 24, 2026. This will be followed by the vetting of aspirants from April 25 to April 30.
He indicated that appeals arising from the vetting process will be received between May 1 and May 4, with hearings scheduled from May 6 to May 9.
The elections of polling station executives nationwide are slated for May 10 to May 16, after which the party will undertake data entry and validation of elected executives from May 17 to May 21.
Mr Kodua further outlined the timeline for the next phase of the internal elections, noting that nominations for Electoral Area contests will open from May 23 to May 25.
Vetting for Electoral Area aspirants will take place from May 26 to May 31, while appeals will be received from June 1 to June 4. Notices of poll are expected to be issued between June 5 and June 8.
Elections at the Electoral Area level are scheduled for June 10 to June 15, followed by data entry and validation from June 16 to June 20.
The General Secretary emphasised that constituency executive committees and regional steering committees will oversee the processes, under the supervision of the party’s National Secretariat.The rollout of the internal electoral calendar is seen as a key step in reorganising the party’s grassroots structures as it prepares for future national elections.
