The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a series of planned and emergency maintenance works across parts of the Greater Accra, Central and Ashanti regions, resulting in temporary power outages in several communities this week.

In the Tema Region of Greater Accra, power interruptions are scheduled between 9:00am and 3:00pm on selected days. On Sunday, February 22, residents in Fennice, Saglemi, Lakpleku, Rainbow Paints and the Bundase Military Training Camp are expected to experience outages.

On Monday, February 23, the exercise will affect Leisure Hours, Nungua Zongo, Coco Beach and the Kpeshie Divisional Headquarters. Further planned maintenance on Tuesday, February 24, will disrupt supply in Kpong, Odumase, Lashibi and Klagon. On Thursday, February 26, Old Ningo, New Ningo, Junction Mall and surrounding communities will also be impacted.

The Accra East Region is similarly expected to experience disruptions. Emergency works on Sunday will affect Electro Volta House and adjoining areas. From Monday through Thursday, planned maintenance will extend to Teiman, Ga East Hospital, Santana Market, La Cemetery, Lakeside Estate, New Legon and parts of East Legon.

In the Accra West Region, emergency maintenance scheduled for Sunday will affect the Latter Day Saint Headquarters, the Ghana Immigration Service, Alisa Hotel, the Swiss Embassy and the West African Examinations Council (WAEC). Planned outages throughout the week will also impact Abedi Pele Park, Achimota Neoplan, Akweteyman, Tetegu, Medie and nearby communities.

In the Central Region, outages are scheduled for Monday and Thursday, affecting Saltpond Zongo, Kormantse, Abandze, Anomabo and surrounding towns.

Meanwhile, in the Ashanti Region, emergency maintenance on Sunday will disrupt supply to Barekese Headworks, Nkawie, Afari and Abuakwa Maakro. Planned works on Tuesday will affect parts of Agona, including the Municipal Assembly and the Police Station.
