POLICE OFFICER INTERDICTED FOR FILMING MAHAMA’S JET

Published:

The Ghana Police Service has interdicted five officers for acts of misconduct involving the unauthorised use of official police uniforms on social media platforms.

In a press release issued by the Public Affairs Directorate at the Police Headquarters in Accra on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, the Police Service said the action followed findings of multiple breaches related to how the officers used police attire online.

The interdicted officers are No. 45545 G/Sgt. Samuel Agbemanyale, No. 50300 G/Cpl. Isaac Pipere, No. 51816 G/Cpl. Samuel Agbo, No. 56803 G/Cpl. Charles Oduro, and No. 14494 PW/Const. Elizabeth Dicka Korkor.

According to the statement, the officers have been referred to the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) for further investigations and the application of appropriate disciplinary measures in line with police regulations.

One of the interdicted officers, G/Sgt. Samuel Agbemanyale, was cited in connection with a video he recorded of President John Dramani Mahama aboard a private jet during the President’s trip to Ho for the National Farmers Day celebrations, which was later posted on social media.

The Police Service reiterated its commitment to upholding professionalism and discipline within the Service, cautioning personnel against conduct that undermines its image and integrity, particularly on social media.

The statement further highlighted the growing concern over the misuse of official uniforms and symbols online, noting that such actions have the potential to compromise public trust and the neutrality of the Police Service.
