WE HAVE MADE DIGITALIZATION A CENTRAL PILLAR OF OUR ECONOMIC STRATEGY – DR. BAWUMIA DURING THE LAUNCH OF THE CITIZENAPP

Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has said that the Akufo-Addo administration has successfully made digitization a central pillar of our economic strategy. He called on Ghanaians to embrace the Fourth industrial revolution which is digitalization. Speaking at the launch of the CitizenApp in Accra on Monday, October 7, 2024, Dr. Bawumia said “Under the leadership of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, we have made digitization a central pillar of our economic strategy. Recognizing that the fourth industrial revolution is already happening and it is reshaping global landscapes.

“As a country, that has missed the previous three revolutions that many nations took advantage of to become developed countries. We must not miss the fourth industrial revolution. We must seize the opportunities that this fourth revolution presents. There is mounting empirical evidence that highlights the transformative potential of digital innovation to create jobs, boost productivity, increase income levels and foster wealth creation,” he stated.

The CitizenApp, a user-friendly platform that breaks barriers and connects you to vital services you need, effortlessly – from filing taxes, accessing social welfare programs and a also aims to provide a one-stop platform for reporting issues, and receiving real-time updates on public matters. It is designed to be a personalized platform for all Ghanaians to enhance access to various government services and provide citizens with important information in real time. The app is also expected to streamline interactions between citizens and government agencies, making processes more efficient and transparent.
