Fuel prices are expected to witness another round of increases across pumps beginning Saturday, November 16, 2025, according to the Chamber of Petroleum Consumers (COPEC). The projection comes amid rising global crude oil prices and the continued depreciation of the Ghanaian cedi.
In a statement signed by its Executive Secretary, Duncan Amoah, COPEC disclosed that petrol prices are likely to climb by about 3.38%, moving from an average of GHS12.18 to GHS12.59 per litre. Diesel consumers may face an even steeper adjustment, with prices projected to surge by 9.81%, from GHS12.49 to GHS13.71 per litre.
Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) is also expected to register an increase of 1.97%, taking the price to GHS11.87 per kilogram.
COPEC attributed the anticipated hikes to unfavourable international market conditions and exchange rate pressures impacting petroleum import costs. The Chamber noted that while actual pump prices may vary slightly among Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs), they are expected to fall within a five percent margin of the projected figures.
Duncan Amoah urged OMCs to show sensitivity to consumers’ hardships by absorbing portions of the expected increases where possible. “We appeal to OMCs to absorb part of the increases to avoid burdening consumers with steep hikes,” he said.
