Bryan Gave Ken Agyapong 5 Million Cedis To Join NPP 2024 campaign – Pius Hadzide

Published:

A startling claim has emerged from the camp of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential aspirant Bryan Acheampong, alleging that Kennedy Agyapong was financially induced to rejoin the party’s campaign efforts after the 2023 primaries.

According to Pius Enam Hadzide, spokesperson for Bryan Acheampong, the Member of Parliament for Abetifi and Minister of Food and Agriculture allegedly paid GH¢5 million to Kennedy Agyapong to persuade him to return to active campaign duties following his fallout with the party leadership.

“After the 2023 primaries, Kennedy Agyapong went into hibernation and abandoned the party,” Hadzide claimed.
“It took Bryan Acheampong’s intervention, and a payment of five million cedis, before he decided to come back and join the campaign.”

The alleged payment reportedly took place in the aftermath of the NPP’s 2023 presidential primaries, which saw tensions between factions loyal to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Kennedy Agyapong, and other party figures.
Kennedy Agyapong, who had publicly criticised aspects of the party’s internal processes, is said to have taken a back seat in campaign activities following his defeat.

Hadzide’s comments suggest that Bryan Acheampong played a crucial role in mending internal divisions by facilitating Kennedy Agyapong’s return to the campaign trail.
