Former Vice President and 2024 NPP Flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, is attracting strong waves of support from both current and former executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as his campaign for the party’s 2026 flagbearership gathers pace across the country.
With the crucial election scheduled for January 31, 2026, to decide who will lead the party into the 2028 general elections, Dr. Bawumia’s regional tours have been marked by growing enthusiasm among party members and grassroots organizers.
During the climax of his campaign tour of the Greater Accra Region, held at the GNAT Hall in Accra, regional and constituency coordinators of the NPP pledged their full backing for Dr. Bawumia. The event drew a large crowd of delegates, party executives, and supporters who cheered passionately as he delivered his address.
Party coordinators took turns to commend Dr. Bawumia for his dedication, humility, and vision for the NPP and Ghana, describing him as the leader capable of uniting the party and steering the nation toward greater progress.
“Dr. Bawumia has shown consistent loyalty to the NPP and a clear vision for the future. We believe he represents the continuity and innovation the party needs to retain power in 2028,” one coordinator said amid applause.
Dr. Bawumia, in his remarks, expressed gratitude to the coordinators and urged members to maintain unity and discipline as the party heads toward the primaries. He reaffirmed his commitment to running a campaign grounded in ideas, inclusiveness, and service to the people.
