Our Support For Bawumia Reflects The ‘Will Of The People’ – NPP Central Region Youth Organisers

Published:

Thirty out of 45 constituency youth organizers of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Central Region have formally declared their support for former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, describing him as the most capable and unifying candidate to lead the party into the 2028 general elections.

The group announced their endorsement at a gathering in Cape Coast on Thursday, stating that their decision reflects the overwhelming preference of NPP youth and grassroots members across the region.

The youth organizers said their support is based on a “collective conviction” that Dr. Bawumia possesses the “unique vision, proven competence, and transformative leadership” needed to return the NPP to power and steer Ghana toward long-term prosperity.

The organizers praised Dr. Bawumia as a bridge-builder whose broad appeal spans both young and elderly voters.

“We believe Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is the best person for our dear party… a unifying force and an electoral asset. His appeal cuts across the young and old, making him the most formidable candidate to consolidate our gains,” they said.

They also highlighted his “proven loyalty and service” to the NPP, citing his performance as Vice President and his years of commitment to the party.

“Dr. Bawumia has demonstrated unwavering loyalty and commitment to the party and government, serving with distinction and integrity. He has been a trusted and effective leader, and we are confident he will build upon our party’s legacy under President Kufuor and President Akufo-Addo,” they noted.

According to the group, Dr. Bawumia stands out as the most experienced among all the aspirants seeking to lead the party.

They emphasized that his long-standing national visibility and track record make him the easiest candidate to market.

“We have marketed and sold him across the country and it’s less burdensome to market him than to come with a completely new name and face,” they said.

The youth organizers also applauded Dr. Bawumia’s campaign message, particularly his emphasis on unity and welfare-oriented policies.

They referenced his proposed party reforms, including 10 appointments per constituency, constituency-focused national budgeting, and improved welfare structures for party members, as practical ideas that would transform the NPP and strengthen its grassroots.

They further commended his record on job creation during his tenure as Vice President, saying his initiatives provided hope for the youth of Ghana.

“These are some of the practical policies we believe will progressively shape the future of our party and country,” they stated.
