Bawumia Is Eastern Region, Eastern Region Is Bawumia- Delegates chant

Published:

Former Vice President Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on Thursday demonstrated significant political strength in the Eastern Region as he received a massive show of support in the Eastern Region.

Dr. Bawumia, who is seeking to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) into the 2028 General Elections, toured the region as part of his regional campaign activities ahead of the party’s presidential primaries scheduled for January 2025.

The former Vice President was welcomed by a large, spirited crowd of NPP faithful who waved party flags, chanted his name, and danced along the streets in a display of growing momentum behind his bid.

The enthusiastic turnout, continue chanted “Bawumia is Eastern Region, Eastern Region is Region”. Supporters described the energy as a “statement of intent” ahead of what is expected to be one of the most competitive presidential primaries in the party’s history.

“Abetifi, Nkawkaw, Abirem and Atiwa East constituencies showed up with much love and support as I continued my tour of the Eastern Region. The strong desire to win with me is very much appreciated, and I reiterate my commitment to work with all for our collective victory,” he said.

Dr. Bawumia also launched a new phase of his campaign to Abetifi, Afram Plains North, Afram Plains South, and Mpraeso.
His trip across the river into the Afram Plains via ferry, he noted, stirred nostalgic memories of political work he and NPP grassroots members have done in the area for nearly two decades.

“We are still on a journey to win together and make our party and country greater. I look forward to meeting and interacting with all of you in the remaining constituencies,” he added.

As the January 2025 primaries draw closer, Dr. Bawumia’s ability to command support in key constituencies, including those of his strongest rivals, positions him as a formidable contender in the upcoming race for the NPP flagbearership.
