The rising cost of fuel has necessitated fare increases — VIP Jeoun

Published:

Transport operator VIP Jeoun Transport has announced an upward adjustment in fares across its nationwide routes, with the new pricing taking effect from Wednesday, April 8, 2026.

The company disclosed that the revised fares apply to both its standard tour and executive coach services, covering key routes from Accra to major destinations across the country.

Under the new fare structure, passengers using standard services will pay GH¢120 for travel from Accra to Kumasi, GH¢170 to Sunyani, and GH¢290 to Tamale. Fares to northern destinations have also increased, with trips to Bolgatanga set at GH¢330 and Wa at GH¢320.

Executive coach services have similarly seen price adjustments. Travel from Accra to Kumasi will now cost GH¢150, while fares to Sunyani and Tamale have been revised to GH¢200 and GH¢360, respectively.

For longer-distance routes, passengers travelling from Accra to Navrongo will pay GH¢420, while those heading to Bawku will pay GH¢430.

The company also announced updated intercity fares from Kumasi, including GH¢210 for travel to Tamale and GH¢250 to Bolgatanga.

According to VIP Jeoun Transport, the new fare structure has been approved by management and applies across all operational routes.

The increase comes amid broader concerns over rising transportation costs, with passengers likely to feel the impact as operators adjust prices in response to operational pressures.
